About Thrive Bucks
Thrive Bucks Ltd is a mental health nurse owned organisation with values espoused in the recovery philosophy. Our guiding principles are person centeredness, a focus on strengths rather than deficits, the belief that all should be supported to live a fulfilling life in spite of challenges presented by illness or disability and a holistic approach that takes into account the biological, psychological and social needs of all our clients.

Coproduction and collaborative working are the cornerstones of our service ensuring all our clients and their significant others are fully involved in all aspects of the service they receive from us. We adopt an integrated approach taking into account the need for multi-agency working to ensure all the health and social care needs of our clients are met.
The director of Thrive Bucks Ltd has a hands on approach and direct involvement in the day-to-day running of the organisation including assurance of the quality of service being delivered. As a senior mental health nurse with twenty one years experience of working in mental health as a nurse in inpatients wards, community settings, nursing homes, domiciliary care, and more recently as Quality and Governance Lead then Deputy Head of Nursing and Quality, I have a full appreciation of care standards and what good quality looks like. I have a passion for supporting people with mental illness or any disability to be included and integrated in society and to have the opportunity to set and achieve their goals in spite of their illness or disability. This recovery approach is something I practice in my day-to-day as a senior nurse and am also knowledgeable in having completed a doctoral study in the area. This knowledge and experience is something I bring into Thrive Bucks Ltd to ensure recovery-oriented support is given at all times. As a nurse led service, our work is evidence based and informed for example by the Health and Wellbeing strategy, NHS Long Term Plan.
All our clients will receive personalised care informed by the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to ensure support interventions are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the individual clients. We invest in high calibre and well trained support staff who work in accordance with our values espoused in our policies and culture. Our accommodation is in residential areas and provides a clean, welcoming, warm and homely environment which promotes independence and opportunities for social activities both in the accommodation and in the local communities to enhance confidence and support recovery. We invest in gaining knowledge of local facilities and resources that we and our clients can tap into to enhance well-being and reduce health inequalities our clients may be at risk of. We place a lot of importance on maintaining relationships and links in the community to prevent social exclusion, institutionalisation and loneliness so will support our clients with pursuing hobbies, taking part in community activities and strengthening relationships with friends and family. We invest in building relationships with others such as health providers, social care, voluntary sector organisations in order to access services our clients may require outside what we can provide.
Our name Thrive captures our goal and vision for our clients and ourselves as an organisation to grow and flourish in spite of obstacles we face. We work together with our clients and their significant others always full of hope and optimistic to achieve recovery goals set by the clients ensuring that they are included and maintain their citizenship in society. This is supported by our values (the 6 C’s of nursing: care, compassion, communication, courage competence, commitment) as we strive for excellence (safe, effective, evidence informed, collaborative, muilti-agency working, holistic care and a culture of continuous improvement in our organisation)aim to support our clients to grow and flourish in the different aspects of their lives they aspire to in spite of.
